Exhibition works can be read as a response to the simultaneous need for reflection and global forecast in evolutionary history, physical/digital ecology/topography, and site as qualified constituent.

The Umpqua area is described in current ecological terms as a 'Globally Significant' area. Species and conditions that face depletion elsewhere still persist here, albeit tentatively.

Artists were chosen to meditate on the complexities found at the junction of industrial and environmental operations.

Transgression: (geology) the spread of sea over land areas and the consequent unconformable deposit of sediments on old rocks.

Ceramic materiality may be considered alongside earthly occurrences of sedimentary deposits (as during marine transgression).

If so, then marbled clay can be understood as the nonlinear historical narratives of wavy stratigraphy and other geomorphologic shifting.

Mixed clay bodies commune while hydrated.

Upon firing, fracturing occurs due to a weakness at the meeting of every striation under pressure of rapid water loss.

Aiming to concretize, flatten, or remove juicy affinities of composite form inevitably leads to fissure.
